Omar ERASES $30M After GOP Threatens Investigation

Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar drastically amended her financial disclosure forms after an initial filing showed her husband’s companies valued between $6 million and $30 million—a claim her office now attributes to an accountant’s mistake. The corrected filing lists joint assets between just $18,004 and $95,000, erasing what appeared to be millions in wealth overnight.

From Millions to Thousands Overnight

Omar’s original financial disclosure stated companies co-owned by her husband Tim Mynett were worth between $6 million and $30 million. The amended filing, first reported by the Wall Street Journal, now values Mynett’s two companies at “none” while listing income from those companies between $102,502 and $1,005,000. Omar’s spokesperson told the Star Tribune the “accounting error created a misleading picture of far greater wealth,” insisting “the congresswoman is not a millionaire.”

Republican Calls for Investigation

The apparent multimillion-dollar jump in wealth against the couple’s 2024 filings triggered immediate scrutiny from the Republican-led House Oversight Committee. President Trump threatened investigations into Omar’s finances before the amendment was filed. Representative Tom Emmer, a Minnesota Republican, released a statement declaring Omar’s “multimillion-dollar financial disclosure revision is just the latest on a long list of her questionable actions.” Emmer added that “she cannot escape accountability for long.”

What This Means

The dramatic correction raises questions about oversight in congressional financial reporting. Federal law requires members of Congress to accurately disclose their assets and income to prevent conflicts of interest. Whether the error stems from accountant negligence or other factors remains unclear. Omar’s office has not responded to requests for comment about how such a significant discrepancy occurred or what safeguards exist to prevent similar errors. The House Oversight Committee has not announced whether it will proceed with an investigation despite the amended filing.

  1. This woman should be in JAIL! She has been noted for fraud numerous times, yet she is STILL in a government position and hasn’t even been prosecuted.
