Trump Makes New Immigration Promise For If He Wins the 2024 Election

Former President Trump is one of a growing number of contenders seeking the White House in 2024. Trump is running to serve a second term in the Oval Office and continue where he started before he left the White House in January 2021.

However, in order to do this, Trump has to first get the nomination. Also running for the GOP 2024 nomination are candidates like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and a handful of others.

Nevertheless, as a 2024 contender, Trump is making it clear what he intends to do, should he return to the Oval Office. According to Fox News, one of his policies would involve stopping the kids of illegal immigrants from being granted US citizenship.

A Closer Look at What Trump Has in Mind

The former president declared that it is incorrect to intepret the law in a manner that would give the children illegal immigrants status as Americans citizens.

Therefore, Trump’s first day of office, according to him, would involve signing an executive order that terminates this citizenship going forward, hence cracking down against “birth tourism.”

In making this announcement days ago, the former president sounded off against policies from Joe Biden that encourage not just birth tourism, but also unfettered illegal immigration at the maximum levels.

A Mixed Bag of Reactions

On social media, Democrats unsurprisingly opposed Trump’s plan, citing it as racist and xenophobic.

However, the response varied more amongst conservatives and Trump supporters. Some of these folks said they were in favor of nuking birthright citizenship for the kids of illegal immigrants.

Though others opined that anyone who is born in the United States ought to be granted citizenship accordingly.

At the end of the day, the termination of birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants’ kids wholly depends on whether or not Trump makes it back into the White House.
