Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is in the news a lot these days.
That has to do with him bringing criminal charges against former President Trump. Bragg claims that Trump committed several crimes back in 2016 that regard a payout granted to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Meanwhile, critics aren’t buying this narrative. The district attorney is being accused of manipulating the law and trying to make misdemeanor offenses into felonies. Additional backlash against Bragg states that all the charges are trumped up and without merit.
Meanwhile, Red State reports that Bragg is now facing some very real problems of his own.
The Latest Problems Facing Bragg
Since pursuing legal action against Trump, Bragg has come under fire from House Republicans. Namely, GOP lawmakers are investigating his legal case, with the view that it won’t hold up.
In response to this, the Manhattan district attorney sued Rep. Jim Jordan, one of the top Republicans who is now looking into him. However, this lawsuit didn’t quite go as Bragg likely imagined.

One major aim of the lawsuit was to block a subpoena issued to a former office aide of his. Bragg’s goals likewise involved slapping Jordan with a restraining order for a limited amount of time.
The judge responsible for overseeing this rejected Bragg’s claims. The Manhattan district attorney also wasn’t helped by his own failure to include in his court records the very subpoena he was complaining about.
Bragg’s ask for a restraining order and a block on what House Republicans are trying to do has hence been denied.
The Bottom Line
Throughout this entire process, Alvin Bragg has talked a good game about the case he has against Trump. Therefore, there shouldn’t be any issue with this case coming up against scrutiny from Republicans in the House of Representatives.

This latest legal loss only further indicates that Bragg will have some explaining to do very soon.
