In the minds of the left, the tiki torches used in the Charlottesville demonstration six years ago are still burning.
Six years ago, on August 11, 2017, protesters took to the streets in support of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and against tearing down a statue of General Robert E. Lee.
The rally also included a small number of white nationalists.
The white nationalists at the time lit torches and marched while chanting. This ended up intimidating the people nearby. Three individuals who carried tiki torches are now being arrested.

Who’s Being Charged?
These three individuals are being charged with the felony of trying to intimidate people in a public space and each faces up to five years behind bars.
At the time of the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Biden also used it to leverage his campaign and belittle Trump supporters.
Comments by Trump about the “fine people” who were not there for racial reasons were lied about for years by the media claiming he was praising the alt-right.
The three arrested for carrying a lawn ornament are Tyler Bradley Dykes from Bluffton, South Carolina, William Zachary Smith from Nacona, Texas, and Dallas Medine from Ravena, Ohio.
Considering the several hundred who carried torches, it seems likely more charges will be coming down the pipe.

Why Is This Even Happening?
Smith was already charged with using pepper spray during the march, which could aggravate his case, and faces up to 20 years in prison. This is a way to punish him even more.
Medina was recently arrested and is not in custody. On the other hand, Smith is in custody. Leftist Virginia Commonwealth Prosecutor James Hingeley says this is about honoring the law and doing what his predecessor failed to do.
What Comes Next?
So far, the three accused have not filed for a review of the case. They were found charged in February, but have only now come to public knowledge.
Prosecutors in the case have said they are committed to the case and may soon announce further charges. This country is becoming a Soviet-level nightmare.
