Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk, revived Donald Trump’s account after a poll found more than 51% of people want to see the former president back on the social media platform.
After the completion of the poll, Musk tweeted that people have finally spoken, so Trump’s account will be reinstated.
Trump Gets his Twitter Account Back
Musk initiated a Twitter poll on Friday, asking his followers whether or not to reinstate Trump’s Twitter account. More than 15 million people participated in the poll. 51.8% voted in favor of lifting Trump’s ban.
Later on, Musk tweeted that 134 million people have seen his polls, adding that nearly one million people are casting their vote every hour.
Trump was banned from prominent social media platforms after the January 6 attack. While his Twitter ban was permanent, Trump is all set to get his Facebook account back in January 2023 after facing a two-year ban.
Meanwhile, Trump has once again signaled he might not use his Twitter account again. While speaking at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual leadership meeting, Trump stated he does not find any reason to use Twitter again.
Trump said his own platform, Truth Social, is doing exceptionally well; so he will stick to it.

Although Trump’s follower count got set to 72.4 million at the time of the ban lifting, he has been gaining followers rapidly since then. Within 12 hours, Trump got nearly 14 million more followers.
Reportedly, Trump’s allegiance to his own social media platform, Truth Social, will get questionable if the former president decides to come back on Twitter. Other users of Truth Social can also leave Trump’s platform if the former president comes back on Twitter.
After getting banned from Twitter and Facebook, Trump used Truth Social as his primary source of communication with his followers.
On his platform, Trump endorsed multiple candidates for the midterm elections, slammed his opponents, and defended himself amid a wave of legal challenges against him all across the United States.

Trump Praises Musk, Declines to Rejoin Twitter
Musk claimed he will make Twitter a platform to discuss a wide range of ideas without suppressing any particular point of view. It still remains unclear whether the former president will reconsider Musk’s policies to make his final decision to return to the platform.
Previously, Trump has praised Musk numerous times. When Musk successfully acquired Twitter, Trump noted he was happy that Twitter had finally come into safe hands.
Likewise, Trump asserted Musk’s Twitter acquisition would help the country to get rid of the fanatic far-left, which was dominating the social media site otherwise.
However, Trump stated Twitter has so many bots and fake accounts; so Musk should get rid of them to make Twitter an incredible platform.
Apart from Trump, Elon Musk also lifted the ban on various other notable personalities, including comedian Kathy Griffin, who was banned for changing her account name to Elon Musk earlier this month.
