As reported on Sunday by NBC News, President Joe Biden’s popularity rating among American citizens has fallen to its lowest point in his administration thus far.
There are just 40% of those questioned who expressed satisfaction with the job he is doing. Additionally, 71% of Americans say the country is on the “wrong track.”

Both Sides
Republicans (Bill McInturff of Public Opinions Research) and Democrats (Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates) ran the poll.
Over four days last week, the poll surveyed 1,000 persons and 790 eligible voters. It has a margin of error of 3.1 percent across all respondents.
“What this survey indicates is President Biden and the Democrats are on the verge of a disaster,” McInturff told NBC.
Among those who have voted in Real Clear Politics polls, Biden has an average approval rating of 41.1% and a disapproval rating of 53.2%.

Additionally, Horwitt highlighted there may be some advantages in the survey for Biden and Democrats.
However, the crisis in Ukraine has not done nearly as much to strengthen support for the administration as one might have anticipated.
There are some positive findings in the study for Biden and Democrats, including an uptick in those who approve of his handling of the coronavirus outbreak.
Almost 80% of Americans also support Biden’s decision to embargo Russian oil imports, even though it will raise gas prices.
However, the survey indicates the public has not yet united around Biden, due to the Ukraine war, according to Horwitt, the Democratic pollster.
“One thing that has not occurred — at least not yet — is a rally-around-the-flag reaction to an increase in Biden’s job rating. That possibility still exists if America becomes more actively involved, but it is not present at the moment.”
Dropping Even in His Camp
McInturff also stated the president’s dismal polling ratings reflect his declining popularity among his base.
Biden’s approval numbers have declined across the board across key population subgroups.
This includes with black participants (from 64% in January to 62% today), women (from 51% to 44%), Latinos (from 48% to 39%), and Independents (36 percent to 32 percent).
McInturff, the Republican pollster, explained, “You cannot go to the lower 40s in presidential popularity without putting some real strain on your base.”
Other surveys conducted around the country indicate Biden’s lackluster job performance. Furthermore, the Washington Free Beacon recently reported Biden is suffering in places like traditionally Democratic California.
According to a survey issued Thursday by the Public Policy Institute of California, only 46% of prospective California voters approve of Biden, while 51% disapprove.
These figures represent a 19-point decline in only one year; a 2021 survey conducted by the same company found Biden to have the support of 65 percent of potential California voters.
Biden received nearly 60% of California voters’ support in 2020. The NBC survey was conducted before Biden’s trip to Europe.
